From Busy to Profitable: Weekly Tasks That Grow Your Beauty Business

Let’s get real — not every task in your business brings in money.

Some are nice-to-do, but others are must-do because they directly impact your income.

These are your Income-Producing Tasks (IPTs) - could also be called Income Generating Tasks; the actions that help you book more treatments, sell more products, or retain more clients.

Here’s how to make IPTs work for you this week:

Step 1: Ask Yourself

• What 2-3 actions can I take this week that will directly generate income?
• Where have I left money on the table (e.g., clients I didn’t rebook, follow-ups I didn’t send, offers I didn’t promote)?

Examples of Powerful IPTs:

• Follow up with leads or enquiries: Message anyone who asked about a treatment but didn’t book - a gentle nudge could secure a spot.
• Rebook clients before they leave: Use a simple script like, “Let’s get you booked in for your next session so we stay on track with your skin goals.”
• Promote a specific service or offer: Share a post or story about one treatment -  highlight its benefits and a few available slots.  NOTE THE WORD SPECIFIC – NOT PROMOTE EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE KITCHEN SINK!!
• Retail recommendation: Text or DM clients with a personal product recommendation based on their last visit -  retail adds extra income without more time.
• Create a last-minute offer for this week: Got gaps in your diary? Offer 10% off or a free add-on for specific times to fill those slots.

Quick Strategy Tip: Every Sunday, write down your 2-3 IPTs and commit to doing them first before other tasks (like tidying the stock cupboard or redoing your logo!!)
