Volume Lashes Training Course

Professional volume lashes training with assessed case studies

Learn how to apply professional volume lashes safely, confidently and to industry standards.

This course is designed for qualified individual lash extension therapists who want to progress into volume lash techniques, also known as Russian lashes or 3D volume lashes.

Volume lashes involve creating handmade fans using fine lash extensions and applying them to individual natural lashes to create a fuller, softer and more dramatic lash result than classic individual lash extensions.

This is not a beginner lash course.

You must already be qualified and competent in individual eyelash extensions before attending this course.

You will complete guided home study, attend practical training and submit assessed case studies so your competence can be reviewed before certification.

Pre-requisites

Learners must already be:

  • Qualified in individual eyelash extensions
  • Competent in performing individual lash extension treatments
  • Able to provide evidence of at least 20 sets of lashes performed

This course is not suitable for complete beginners or learners who have not already trained in classic individual eyelash extensions.

Volume lash work requires a solid foundation in lash isolation, adhesive control, lash selection, client consultation, patch testing, hygiene, natural lash health and safe application.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for:

  • Qualified individual lash extension therapists
  • Lash technicians wanting to progress into volume lashes
  • Therapists who already feel confident with classic lash application
  • Beauty therapists wanting to expand their lash treatment menu
  • Mobile lash therapists
  • Home-based lash therapists
  • Salon-based lash therapists
  • Salon owners who want to upskill team members
  • Lash technicians who want to offer fuller lash styles and more advanced lash services

This course is not suitable if you are not already trained and confident in individual eyelash extensions.

Why choose this volume lashes course?

Volume lashes are popular because they allow therapists to create a fuller lash look while still working with fine, lightweight lash extensions.

Clients may choose volume lashes because they want more fullness, softness, density or drama than classic lashes can offer. Volume lashes can also be adapted to create different styles, from soft and fluffy to fuller and more glamorous.

However, volume lashes require more advanced skill than classic lash extensions. You are not simply applying a single extension to a single natural lash. You need to understand fan creation, weight, lash health, symmetry, adhesive control, placement, styling and safe application.

This course gives you the foundation to work professionally, safely and confidently with volume lash techniques.

You will not be left to work it all out alone after training. Your case studies are reviewed before certification, giving you the opportunity to practice, build confidence and receive feedback.

Course structure

This course includes:

Guided home study

You will complete approximately 5 hours of guided home study before or alongside your practical training.

This helps you understand the theory behind volume lashes and prepares you for the practical training day.

1-day practical training

Your practical training day focuses on hands-on skills, fan creation, lash placement, treatment routine, hygiene, technique correction, safe working practice and building confidence.

Volume lashes require more precision and control than classic lash application, so the practical day is supported by case study work after training.

5 assessed case studies

After your practical training, you will complete 5 volume lash case studies.

These are submitted for review before certification. This ensures you have practiced the treatment, developed your technique and can show evidence of competence.

Patch testing requirement

A patch test must be carried out 48 hours before the course.

This can be done at the training venue if you live nearby, or by purchasing your own kit.

If you are the only student on the course, you must carry out the patch test on your model.

Patch testing is an important part of safe professional practice, especially when using lash adhesive close to the eye area.

What treatments will I be able to offer?

Once you have successfully completed your training and case studies, you will be able to offer professional volume lash services, including:

  • Volume lashes
  • Russian lashes
  • 3D volume lashes
  • Fuller lash enhancement treatments
  • Volume lash maintenance
  • Volume lash infills, where appropriate
  • Safe lash extension removal
  • Aftercare guidance for volume lash clients

You can use this course to add a more advanced and higher-value lash service to your beauty treatment menu.

Why case studies matter

Case studies are an important part of learning properly.

Volume lashes require precision, patience, fan control, lash isolation, safe weight selection and careful adhesive use. These skills improve with practice, repetition and feedback.

Case studies give you the opportunity to practice on real people, develop confidence, refine your technique and show that you can carry out the treatment safely and professionally.

They also help you move from “I’ve attended a course” to “I can actually perform this treatment competently.”

That matters.

Your clients deserve more than a rushed certificate, and so do you.

By the end of the course, you will be able to

  • Explain what volume lashes are
  • Understand how volume lashes differ from classic lash extensions
  • Understand Russian lash theory
  • Carry out a professional client consultation
  • Complete appropriate patch testing requirements
  • Recognise contraindications and common eye conditions
  • Work safely and hygienically around the eye area
  • Select suitable lashes for volume work
  • Understand lash weight, length and thickness considerations
  • Create volume lash fans
  • Apply volume lashes safely and professionally
  • Understand lash isolation and adhesive control
  • Maintain and infill volume lash extensions, where appropriate
  • Remove lash extensions safely
  • Give suitable aftercare advice
  • Understand common problems and how to avoid them
  • Build volume lashes into your lash or beauty treatment menu

It is also not suitable if you are not already qualified and competent in individual eyelash extensions.

This course is for you if…

This course is for you if you want to learn volume lashes properly, practice safely and feel confident offering more advanced lash treatments to paying clients.

It is for you if you care about standards, client safety, natural lash health and building a professional reputation.

What makes this different from cheaper volume lash courses?

There are many low-cost lash courses available, but not all training is equal.

Volume lashes require skill, patience, fan control, isolation, safe adhesive use and an understanding of natural lash health. A short or rushed course may leave learners unsure, under-practiced and lacking confidence.

With Jane Bryan Beauty Training, the focus is on professional competence, not just attendance.

You receive structured learning, practical training, case study requirements and tutor feedback before certification. This gives you a stronger foundation and helps you feel more confident when working with real clients.

A cheap course may give you a certificate.

A proper course should help you become competent.
