Why choose this manicure course?
A manicure may seem like a simple treatment, but professional nail care requires more than filing and polishing.
You need to understand safe working practices, consultation, contraindications, nail conditions, cuticle work, massage, product use, aftercare and how to adapt the treatment for different clients.
This course gives you the foundation to work professionally and safely.
You will not be left to work it all out alone after the training day. Your case studies are reviewed before certification, so you have the opportunity to practice, build confidence and receive feedback.

Course structure
This course includes:
Guided home study: You will complete approximately 10 hours of home study before or alongside your practical training. This helps you understand the theory behind the treatment and prepares you for the practical day.
1-day practical training: Your practical training day focuses on hands-on skills, treatment routine, technique correction and building confidence.
5 assessed case studies: After your training day, you will complete 5 manicure case studies.
These are submitted for review before certification. This ensures you have practiced the treatment and can show evidence of competence.
What treatments will I be able to offer?
Once you have successfully completed your training and case studies, you will be able to offer professional manicure treatments, including:
- Express manicure
- Standard manicure
- Luxury manicure
- Male manicure
- Warm oil manicure
- Paraffin wax manicure
- Manicure treatments using heated mittens
- Polish application
- French polish application
You can also use this course as a foundation before progressing onto gel polish, pedicure training, BIAB or extensions.
Why case studies matter
Case studies are an important part of learning properly.
They give you the opportunity to practise on real people, develop confidence, refine your technique and show that you can carry out the treatment safely and professionally.
They also help you move from “I’ve attended a course” to “I can actually perform this treatment competently.”
That matters.
Your clients deserve more than a rushed certificate, and so do you.
By the end of the course, you will be able to
- Carry out a professional manicure treatment from consultation to aftercare
- Prepare the nails safely and correctly
- Shape and file the nails
- Carry out cuticle work safely
- Perform a hand and lower arm massage
- Apply polish neatly and professionally
- Recognise common contraindications and nail conditions
- Give suitable aftercare advice
- Adapt the manicure treatment to suit different client needs
- Create different manicure options for your treatment menu

What makes this different from cheaper manicure courses?
There are many low-cost manicure courses available, but not all training is equal.
With Jane Bryan Beauty Training, the focus is on professional competence, not just attendance.
You receive structured learning, practical training, case study requirements and feedback before certification. This gives you a stronger foundation and helps you feel more confident when working with real clients.
A cheap course may give you a certificate.
